Stephen Nicholas “Nicky” Windler age 25 of Osawatomie, KS died January 19, 2019.
Nicky was born March 26, 1993 in Olathe, KS. He was the youngest of five children born to Larry Lester and Joyce Janette (Moore) Windler. He grew up in Miami County and attended school at Prairie View school district. Nicky graduated with the Prairie View High School Class of 2012.
After high school, Nicky worked at Medical Lodge and Casey’s in Paola. He worked for Scheff Steel in Ottawa and then helped his Dad lay carpet. Then in 2016, Nicky started working for Kansas Department of Transportation. He earned his CDL and was an equipment operator. Nicky loved his job with KDOT.
Nicky was a family man. He loved spending time with his fiancé, his son, step sons and family. Nicky had a voice and laugh that no one would forget. He was always happy and positive. Nicky had a huge heart. In his free time he loved playing his X-Box 1 and listing to Volbeat. Nicky liked Anime and Chinese food. Nicky’s favorite time was getting together with his family and having Nerf wars as he was very competitive.
He is preceded in death by his father Larry Windler.
Survivors include his fiancé Aeriadini Large, son Devon James Windler, stepsons Gunner Buckner and Eric Hartley all of the home. Mother Joyce Windler of Warsaw, MO, brothers Danny Vickers of Paola, KS and Nathan Vickers of Lawrence, KS, sisters Alicia Windler of Paola, KS and Kristina Fasick of Branson, MO. Along with other family and many friends.
